As companies grow, they also create a more challenging landscape for the executives charged with leading these enterprises. Increasingly, companies are looking for a highly skilled executive team, which could leverage the strengths and functional expertise of multiple leaders instead of a single individual to provide that leadership.
Membership on an executive team, however, has its own challenges. Given their position, the actions of the executive teams shape the organization’s culture, impact productivity, foster innovation and more. At that point, even very senior, highly experienced and well-educated leaders have much to learn about what it takes to work well in teams.
